20 Imerys sites are opening their doors to the public on European Minerals Day 2009



From Friday 15 to Sunday 17 May, 2009, in line with European Minerals Day, a range of events – plant and quarry tours, presentations of site restoration or environmental projects – will be organised across Europe to improve the public’s awareness of the issues facing the minerals industry.he spotlight will particularly be on the protection of biodiversity, with visitors getting an opportunity to discover examples of the flora and fauna found on restored mining sites.

In that context, around 20 Imerys sites are organizing events both in Europe and the rest of the world, including open days, school visits and presentations of their activities to elected representatives and the press.
